Traditionally, yoga was taught on an individual basis. This allowed
the teachings to be
tailored precisely to the students interests,
abilities and requirements.
Individual
classes take into consideration how much time you have to practice,
what you
would find interesting and beneficial
to you and your lifestyle.
During our time together I will devise a suitable
practice for you and then teach this to you.
The practice is drawn out for you
and you will be encouraged to practice at home between
sessions; your feedback
will be important and enable me to refine, direct and progress
your personal practice.
Individual classes are particularly useful for those
people who:
Are committed to developing
a personal yoga practice
Have a therapeutic need they
wish to address (stress, anxiety, depression, back pain,
arthritis, high blood pressure,
breathing difficulties)
Are pregnant, and would like
individual advice and support in preparing for birth
Are interested in working
with more demanding postures and techniques often not
taught in a group class
(e.g. headstand, lotus posture, strong backbends,
more complex breathing
techniques etc.)
Find that committing to a
regular group class is very difficult
I usually meet people on a monthly basis, and generally
more frequently at the beginning.
This of course can vary and some students may come
every few months. Students will find
most benefit if they commit to
at least 4-6 sessions; though many of my students continue to
come for many years.
Individual sessions are booked by appointment, and
usually take place at my home and
last between 1 and 2 hours. You will need
to wear loose and comfortable clothing and it is a
good idea to purchase
a yoga mat.
Free Consultation : There is a free initial consultation
to discuss any queries. This usually
lasts about 30 minutes. If the
student wishes to continue then sessions are priced as below
Cost: £30 for one hour; £45 for 90 minutes; £60
for 2 hours.
Cancellations and appointment changes may be made
without charge as long as a clear
24 hours notice is given. However,
for any cancellation or appointment change made with
less than 24
hours notice, the full fee is payable.
