Zoë Martin
After graduating (in Fashion and Printed Textile
design) from Northumbria University,
Newcastle in 1998, I moved to London and worked as
a designer, it was at this time
that I began to attend yoga classes. With the help
of a wonderful teacher, Jyoti, my
passion for yoga was ignited.
Originally training with the Sivananda School, my
love for yoga has drawn me to study
and practice different forms and traditions.
My style of teaching is now informed by my experience
of Vinyasa Krama Yoga as taught
by Srivatsa Ramaswami and the yoga teachings of T.K.V
Desikachar as taught to
Paul Harvey, Bristol.
I have studied yoga with both Srivatsa Ramaswami
and T.K.V Desikachar and chant with
Menaka Desikachar. I continue to study with leading
UK teacher Paul Harvey and on a
one - one basis
with my personal teacher Janet Evans, London.
I encourages those who study with me to
build on or develop their own authentic
yoga practice through the practice of Asana, Pranayama,
Meditation and Chant.
My group classes focus on, slow organic sequences
of postures combined with long held
postures, concentration and breathing techniques
and simple chant to increase
inner awareness and ultimately a calm, focused, tranquil
mind.
My teaching experience is diverse ranging from group
classes, one to one work,
pregnancy yoga, workshops and retreats and more recently
in the field of mental health
.
Zoë is a certified yoga, meditation and pregnancy
yoga teacher.
