yoga therapy

Yoga Therapy referred to as
yoga cikiṭsa in Sanskrit is used as a support to prevent or alleviate many physical conditions such as common aches and pains, back pain, scoliosis and knee injuries. Yoga Therapy can act as a support for chronic disease such as Crohn's disease, asthma, chronic fatigue syndrome and multiple sclerosis, as well as psychological or emotional conditions, including anxiety and depression.

Here, modified yoga poses and breathing practices can be prescribed for specific health problems, often in combination with dietary advice taken from ayurveda, traditional Indian medicine. Yoga Therapy can compliment both conventional and alternative medicine.

This approach is not formulaic and is different for each person, taking into account the needs of each person. In time, practitioners will experience improved health, happiness and sense of well being, as well as increased self-awareness, understanding and confidence.

"The shoe that fits one person pinches another;
there is no recipe for living that suits all cases."
